The rules that govern your use of naptosawc.co.za, the NAPTOSA member portal, and the NAPTOSA FAQ Assistant.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing naptosawc.co.za, using the member portal, or interacting with the NAPTOSA FAQ Assistant, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the site or services.
2. Membership & Eligibility
NAPTOSA membership is open to qualifying South African educators. Using this website does not automatically make you a member. Membership requires a formal application and fee payment as described on the Join NAPTOSA page.
- You must be 18 or older to create a member portal account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
- You must provide accurate employment and contact information.
- NAPTOSA may suspend or terminate membership for conduct that violates the NAPTOSA Constitution.
3. Informational use only: no legal advice
The content on this website, including blog articles, resource guides, the FAQ Assistant, and any downloadable documents, is for general information only. It is not legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created by reading it.

4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, server, or member portal.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content without written permission.
- Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
- Use the FAQ Assistant to attempt to extract confidential member information.
- Impersonate another member, NAPTOSA official, or public servant.
- Use the site to harass, defame, or intimidate any person.
5. FAQ Assistant (AI Chatbot)
The NAPTOSA FAQ Assistant is an automated tool that answers common questions. Its responses are generated by a large language model and may be incomplete or inaccurate. It is not a substitute for speaking with a NAPTOSA officer, especially for disciplinary, legal, or crisis matters. NAPTOSA is not liable for decisions you make based on the assistant's output.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this site, including the NAPTOSA name, logo, photos, blog articles, and publications, is owned by NAPTOSA or its licensors and protected by South African and international copyright and trade-mark law. You may quote short passages for non-commercial educational purposes with attribution. Any other reuse requires written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
NAPTOSA provides this site "as is" and makes no warranties about its availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, NAPTOSA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or the FAQ Assistant.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be heard exclusively in the Western Cape courts.
9. Changes to These Terms
NAPTOSA may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the home page for at least 14 days. Continued use of the site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
